A light, summer shawl for any sock/fingering weight yarn. I’ve used 2 skeins/730m of a beautiful sock yarn and a simple repeating pattern to create this elegant, asymmetric shawl. The shawl starts at the narrow, bottom point, and one side is increased on every row to create a gentle curve. Once the depth of the shawl is achieved, the pattern changes to create a straight-edged border. Pattern is written in English and uses UK terms.

Finished size after blocking is 44.5 inches along straight side by 41 inches deep at widest point
Gauge: not critical, but as a guide 10 rows and 26 sts (counting chains and trebles, not picots) to 4 inches over pattern - blocked

Trellis Shawl - Pattern Notes

Shawl is worked flat, turning at the end of every row.
Increases only occur on one side of the shawl.
A chart has been provided after the written instructions to help clarify stitch placement.
I’ve used a sock yarn from Cuddlebums for the pale blue shawl, but I’ve also successfully used up a leftover half of a Scheepjes Whirl and Whirlette (weighing approximately 151g) for the blue/brown version of a similar sized shawl pictured at the end of this pattern
