Trent-Severn
Named for the historic waterway linking Lake Ontario and Georgian Bay - and for the eponymous indie folk band. This wildly popular check takes many names: lumberjack plaid, Rob Roy tartan, or buffalo check. The tea cosy begins and ends with corrugated ribbing, worked in the round. The checked portions are worked flat. Eyelets knit near the top allow for insertion of an i-cord, leather shoelace or whatever kind of tie you fancy, anchored with a decorative button.
