This shoulder bag is made of a dense fabric of cotton yarn worked in half-treble stitches, giving it a sturdy yet comfortable feel. The design was inspired by the rippling waves of the sea, which is reflected in the stitch details when changing from one colour block to another. Depending on your colour choices, your bag could either use subtle shades blending with one another, or use contrasting colours for more of a pop!

Sizing: 29cm/11.5” width x 32cm/12.5” height

Tension: 4”/10cm = 15 sts and 14 rows over half trebles worked with a 4.5mm hook

Yarn requirements: approx 85m/93yds of cotton Aran yarn in each of 3 different colours (I used 3 x 50g balls of Rico cotton Aran).

Needles and notions:
4.5mm crochet hook
1 large button
Leather strap, or preferred strap of your choice, that can be sewn onto bag. Extra yarn could be used to plait a matching or contrasting strap for your bag if you prefer, or you could use a leather belt to make a strap. (I used custom made leather straps of length approx. 1m/39” from Hide & Hammer – https://hideandhammer.uk/).
