Tri-Cities Cowl
The name came from three colors and three sections in the cowl, three versions included in the pattern, and three special friends who helped bring this pattern into being. But, now the pattern also includes a pattern for knitting a 5 color version.
But, don’t let these numbers limit you. You can knit this pattern with as many colors as you want. A Sophie’s Toes Magic Ball could be very fun! The DK version is great for winter and even a blizzard. The fingering weight works well year round!
Enjoy knitting the variety of stitches and combining colors.
The pattern includes both a chart and written instructions.
Size 7 and Size 8 needles are used in the DK version. The circumference is 62” x 12”. Approximate gauge is 4 stitches/inch.
Many knitters prefer using one needle size for the whole cowl. If your ribbing is quite loose, you could drop down one size on one or both borders.
