The Squishy Tri-Colored Cowl is worked in the round and comes in one size. Choose a DK-weight yarn, using enough to total around 450 yards in three different colors. Soft Lino, a blend of linen and cotton, is ideal for creating a soft, drapey fabric. If you prefer a cowl with more structure, a wool yarn is a great alternative.

The project starts by knitting in stripes, and once complete, you’ll transition into a shifting pattern. For this section to work, the stitch count must remain at 129 stitches. If the pattern starts to resemble ribbing, it’s a sign that the stitches aren’t aligned properly. During this part of the project, you won’t need to place a beginning-of-round marker. After the shifting section, striping continues.

Have fun and happy knitting.
