A reversible, cushy texture for autumn! This pattern is from 1884 The Young Ladies Journal, p.39, No. 15. The journal is “a Complete Guide to the Work-Table” of traditional needlework. Triangular Kilted Pattern has a 9-stitch, 8-row repeat. As simple as it is, I had to keep close track of the rows because it’s easy to confuse one side for the other. The 45-stitch swatch is 5.75” wide when gently blocked. Add selvage stitches, if needed. Blocking is optional.

Skills needed: cast on, knit, purl and bind off in knit stitch.

Gauge is not important in this pattern. Any yarn/thread will work. Use a block-able yarn, if you intend to block. Make a swatch to check gauge and appearance.

78 yards of Knitting Fever’s Painted Desert yarn, color 114, will make 10 inches of a 45-stitch-wide strip at gauge.
