Triangulate Shawl
The Triangulate Shawl is a perfect take with you anywhere, easy enough for binge watching, relaxing project!
Construction Outline
This shawl starts by making a triangle from the tip to the widest base, think inverted triangle. ▽
Increases are neatly worked by crocheting an eyelet lace edge. Next a second triangle is started and seamlessly attached to the first triangle while it’s being crocheted.
If desired, 3 or more triangles can be worked to create a larger shawl or keep it simple with just two.
The 2 triangle option is the perfect length to wrap around like a cowl and will be quick and easy. Choose 3 or more colors if you want a large shawl, to use more of your stash/colors, or you just want some shlanketity goodness. (shawl + blanket = shlanket)
Instructions on how to add a scallop border are included for the two color shawl only.
However confident crocheters can easily apply the instructions to the 3 color shawl but additional yarn may be needed.
Optional support videos are linked throughout the pattern.
These are intended to help teach those who are new to these techniques or offer visual explanations of the directions.
Materials
Yarn: Fingering weight
2 Triangles: 2 skeins with at least 462 yards or 422 meters per 100 grams each
3 Triangles: 3 skeins with at least 462 yards or 422 meters per 100 grams each
Optional - For a Scallop Border 50 grams of fingering weight or a fine mohair yarn.
Alterations can be made to accommodate fingering weight yarn with shorter yardage. I have included some simple instructions on how to modify the pattern.
However, you must start your first triangle with the yarn that has the smallest yardage.
Yarn amounts are estimates and can change based on yarn weight, gauge/tension, or any other modifications made.
