This is my triceratops buddy pattern that I created after I started designing my own knit toys to make up for a certain lack of knitted amigurumi patterns. It is knit in the round so there is a lot less sewing needed, and the body is shaped as you knit.

Gauge is not important, but make sure that your yarn and needles create a tightly woven fabric so that your stuffing does not poke through.

I prefer to use wool, but any worsted weight yarn should do. One skein should be plenty. I recommend choosing a more neutral colour for the horns, but experimenting with different colours is fun, because triceratopses are still so recognizable even when purple or striped!

There are so many types of toy stuffing available, so use what you can find. I sometimes use the fabric scraps from sewing projects, which is a great way to reduce, reuse, recycle!
