These mittens are worked in fingering weight yarn to fit a lady’s hand. Trigger mittens are traditional work mittens in Newfoundland. They are knitted with worsted weight yarn and felt on the inside with wear. Patterns for trigger mittens were passed from knitter to knitter, generation to generation and were seldom written down. There are many variations on the colour work shown here which is often referred to as the Labrador Diamond.

Finished circumference of palm is 22 cm (8.5 inches).
