Trilateral Cowl
Requiring one skein each of four colors, the Trilateral Cowl is worked in three sections, starting with six garter-stitch triangle panels that are joined to one another as they are worked. Then, two different borders are worked across the bottom and top of the cowl. The Merino, silk, and yak-blend yarn is warm and soft against the skin.
This design was inspired by the coastline and architecture of the Norwegian coast.

NOTES
-
This cowl is worked in three sections, beginning with six large triangles panels. The first large triangles panel is slightly different because it is not joined to another panel as it is worked. The subsequent five are all worked the same, and each is joined to the preceding panel as it is worked. The rectangle and triangle borders are worked in one piece across the bottom and top of the cowl, respectively.
-
When turning the work in the middle of a row (after doing a slip-slip-knit join), do not do any sort of wrap and turn or short-row treatment. Turn your work and begin the next even-numbered, wrong-side row.
-
For the rectangle border, only pick up stitches from the cast-on edges of each panel, plus an extra stitch at the end of the sixth panel. Do not pick up a stitch in the vertical garter-stitch row between panels or the cast-on stitch beneath it. For the triangle border, pick up a stitch in every bound-off stitch of each panel.
-
The large triangles panels and the triangle border are worked using the intarsia method. When working intarsia, bring new yarn under old yarn at each color change to twist yarns and avoid holes.
