Suggested Yarn

For the Trimm Trabb mittens, I used Etone from Yarnity Yarn. A base with elegant coloured tweed gives a classy touch to the garment. It is a perfect base for this technique because the threads become thick and, at the same time, have good resistance to hand friction.

Yarnity - Etone, fingering weight (100g / 420m; 0.12 oz / 260 yds; 75% wool, 25% Nylon).

C1: ¼ of a skein of “Brown” #dark brown.
C2: ¼ of a skein of “Latte” #pale brown.

Gauge

32 sts x 44 rounds = 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4” in St st knit IN THE ROUND, after blocking.

Needles

Main Fabric: 2.25 mm / 20 cm US 1 / 8 “ circular needles and needles of your choice for small circumference knitting (such as Magic Loop or DPNs).

Ribbing: 2.0 mm / 20 cm US 0 / 8 “ circular needles and needles of your choice for small circumference knitting (such as Magic Loop or DPNs).
Always use the needle size you need to achieve gauge, going down two US sizes for the ribbing.

Notes On Construction

Work the mittens cuff-up. Use the needles of your choice to knit small circumferences. The cuff is worked in 1x1 ribbing to the wrist. Then the intarsia game starts and at the same time, you work the increases for the thumb (notice every hand has a different thumb positioning). Then, leave the stitches on hold and work the fingers. The top of the mitten is shaped with decreases and bound off with grafting in one colour. Then, duplicate the stitches to emulate the 2 coloured tip of the mitten.

Acerca de la construcción

Primero trabaja los puños en elástico 1x1 hasta la muñeca y en circular con tus agujas favoritas para tejer pequeñas circunferencias. Luego comienza el juego de intarsia y al mismo tiempo trabaja los aumentos para el pulgar (ten en cuenta que cada mano tiene una posición diferente del pulgar).
