We love it when a gorgeous handpainted yarn is knitted up in unusual ways. Here the entire yoke is worked from cuff to cuff, then the body is picked up separately for front and back and worked down from there. It makes a wonderful use of trinity and ladder stitches (the latter has a purl ridge on a st st field every 8 rows), so the viewer becomes even more involved in the directionality and dimensionality of the stitchwork. You’ll want something with colour changes fairly close in value (i.e., not swinging too much between light and dark) so as to show every feature of this stunning sweater equally.
