Note
Trinket is a top down, stranded colorwork sock with a short row heel. They include a 2x2 ribbed cuff, colorwork leg shaft and foot, German short row heel and a wedge toe. Any preferred cuff, heel, and toe technique may be substituted according to preference, just keep in mind the all over colorwork design. The sock may be worked in the magic loop method or on double pointed needles. The pattern is written using the magic loop system and needles will be referred to as Needle 1 and Needle 2. In the case that you are working the DPN system, you may use Needle 1 = DPN 1 and 2, and Needle 2 = DPN 3 and 4.

The leg and foot of these socks are knit in stranded colorwork. It is not uncommon that the gauge between non-colorwork knitting and stranded colorwork knitting changes on the same needle size, due to the additional tension caused by floating yarn. You may find that you need to work the cuff, heel and toe with your normal gauge needle and then go up one size needle for the colorwork section of the socks. The all over colorwork may also make the fabric appear puckered while you are knitting it. This is normal and blocking will smooth the fabric out.
