Triptych Twist Cable Blanket
The Triptych Twist crochet blanket pattern is a modern interpretation of the classic crochet cable throw. It has three widths of alternating crochet braided cables, aligning to form a unique cable-work crochet pattern.
Despite the apparent complex design, I found this pattern very relaxing to work once I got used to the row repeats. It really is one of those projects that make you want to work just one more row…
Skills Used:
Knowledge of basic crochet stitches, techniques and terminology is assumed.
This is an intermediate level pattern because of the cables, but the majority of the pattern uses simple stitches. The cables are made with front post extended stitches which are described in full in the pattern. The pattern includes a photo guide and link to a captioned video tutorial for the crossed cable stitches. The pattern also includes a crochet stitch chart. The border requires working into the front loops
Finished Size:
The finished blanket measures approximately 150cm/60in long by 120cm/48in wide.
Materials:
You will need approximately 2640m/2900yds Aran or worsted weight yarn and 5.5mm crochet hook. The item pictured used approximately 1760g or 36 balls of Drops Nepal, Aran weight yarn, 65% wool, 35% Alpaca, 50g ball = 75m/83yds. Shade Chalk (8915)
