Tristia Mittens are a reversible design knitted with two strands of yarn held together. Yarns are separated for the front motif, which is double knit (has two layers) and looks identical on both sides. Contrasting yarn colours make the motif stand out against the marled background creating two “right” sides.

The mitten is knitted sideways with two seams (grafts), one along the centre back and another along the inner thumb. You start knitting at the centre back, work half back, then front, and then second half back. The thumb is incorporated into the mitten body on the indicated row of the back.
