Trollfjord Cardiagn
I love to go hiking in the mountains, and in Norway we always have to be prepared for cold weather, thus woolen garnments are a must. This cardigan is part of my Trollfjord designs. Perfect for hiking, but also to dress up with in your tulle skirt! Or in a combination of the two….¨
Construction
This simple colourwork cardigan is worked seamlessly in the round, top-down, with a steek along the centre front. There is short-row shaping at the top of the yoke to make it sit higher on the back than the front.
The rest of the cardigan is worked in the round, finishing off with rib for both the sleeves and the body. Finally, you pick up stitches for the buttonbands and work these flat.
The steek stitches do not count towards your total stich count, and should be secured using the crochet method before you cut through. If you have substituted with superwash yarn, you should secure the steek with sewing machine seams on either side.
I strongly advice you to grab some pure wool, to make the steek easier, and knit this beauty. It will be amazing for using leftovers, make all the flowers in different colours! I really look forward to see all your different variations.

Pattern notes:
The cardigan is knit top-down in the round and steeked. The flowers are knit holding two colours at the time. The sweater is a wonderful knit for those varigated hand-dyed beauties that you are saving for a special pattern, it is also brilliant for using leftovers from other projects.
The pattern has only one length for yoke, body and sleeves. Make sure you try it on in order to adjust to your liking.
The lengths used in the pattern are the ones I use. I am 175 cm tall and wear a size 3 cardigan with a 10 cm positive ease.
