This hat is a piece of insanity for a pantomime.

It is inspired by the tropical islands that small kids draw with one palm tree on a green island.

The palm tree can be knitted separately for something else other than a hat as it is a separate unit sewn on. Pattern for the hat and the palm tree are both on my blog.
