Troy Boy Sweater
PATTERN STORY
Troy Boy n; 1 A basic, nouveau riche boy who thinks highly of himself, hailing from the township of Troy.
Ex: There is nothing more basic than a Troy Boy
I was having the hardest time trying to find a basic, fingering weight, top down drop shoulder sweater for men. I wanted it to be easy and approachable, but with fun details; a wardrobe staple. There are two versions of this pattern, along with optional shaping and you can create either an unfolded or folded collar.
SKILLS NEEDED
Cast on, increasing stitches, decreasing stitches, picking up stitches, backwards loop cast on, and 2 st cables without a cable needle (Fancy version only).
This pattern is appropriate for an advanced beginner.
You can learn all these techniques on YouTube. Knit With Me
GARMENT CONSTRUCTION
This is a top down, drop shoulder sweater. The back neck is cast on and worked flat until the underarm. The front is then picked up from each shoulder. The neckline is shaped and worked flat until the underarm. The piece is then joined in the round and worked until the bottom of the hem. The collar is added once the body is complete. Sleeves are picked up from the shoulder openings and worked until the cuff.
