This cowl is inspired by the Truckee River, a northeasterly 121 mile-long river that runs through California and Nevada. The Truckee is the sole outlet of Lake Tahoe and drains part of the high Sierra Nevada, emptying into Pyramid Lake in the Great Basin.

I was lucky enough to teach there a few years ago and enjoyed walking by the river in the morning before class.

Knit in the round so there is no wrong side, this cowl is worked as a long tube with a provisional cast on. The end is not bound off, but kitchenered together, forming a seamless loop.

Cowl uses 1 hank each of 4 colors of Little Fox Vulpine DK at 231yds each. Colors used are Silver Birch, Hey Peacock, Gossamer, and Falling Leaves.
