Sizing notes: The easiest way to resize these would be changing the needle size up or down. If you really want to add pattern repeats, cast on in multiples of 12. After you decrease you are actually adding 8 stitches total to the final count. So as written instead of casting on 60 and getting a final count of 40 you might cast on 72 and your final count would be 48.
