Truro Twist Shawl DK
This beautiful quick knit is one that I’ve had in my notebooks for quite some time. I originally wrote it when going to visit my brother on a long train ride down to Truro (hence the name). It’s an easy pattern to memorise making it a fun and engaging knit. I think that the results are just stunning, I hope you enjoy yours just as much.
This pattern contains written instructions to make the photographed shawl with the ribbed boarder. You will need roughly 200g of DK weight yarn although you can make it larger by adding more pattern repeats if you like.
This was the first of its kind and one of my favourites, there is also a 4ply version available with a stunning ruffled edge.
Blocked Dimensions
The Shawls finished and blocked dimensions are approximately:
A wingspan of 183cm/72” by 64cm/25” Deep
Gauge
Gauge is important if you want to have a similar finished size and yardage to the shawl photographed. The gauge is for a stockinette swatch that has been wet blocked (and stretched), swatch measured when dry.
4 Sts per inch. Please bear in mind that did block fairly aggressively! This is the blocked number of stitches per inch.
