Yarn: Use any of your Upcycled Tshirt yarns…any diameter, any color. This is a great one for using up small amounts of many colors.

Needle: I used a 32” US 17 circular for my project.

Needle size will be determined by your yarn and by your swatches. I recommend that you swatch on several needle sizes and compare the swatches to see which produces the fabric that you like best.

You will need a circular needle, even though the shawl or scarf will be knit flat. This is due to the size of the project. The top, longest, edge will be too wide to fit on most lengths of straight needles.

This is a gaugeless project.

No matter what size of yarn you have made, this project will look great. The yardage that you’ll need will vary greatly depending on the size of the finished project, the size of needles that you choose, and the diameter of your yarn. This is a good one to just “cast on and go!”

Sizes

You will make this scarf or shawl according to your own preferences, and to how much yarn you have. Cast on at the point and cast off when you’re either happy with the size or about to run out of yarn.
