Tsu Sweater
When I was 16, I had this amazing opportunity to attend a school with students from around the world. I have always been a small person, and was delighted to make friends with some Japanese girls with amazing style. I dreamed of going to visit Japan one day--a land where clothes were beautiful and just my size.
One of the girls “Tsubasa” was generous enough to loan me some of her clothes from time to time. She is the inspiration for this sweater, which uses a gently waving Japanese lace. It is similar to the traditional “feather and fan” stitch as it is equally simple. Though in this stitch the chevron stripe runs vertically. The ribbing at the yoke is actually a faux-ribbing making it hold its shape exceptionally well.
