The socks are worked in the round from the top down. Instructions are given for working the socks on 4 or 5 double pointed needles. However, the pattern can easily be adapted for knitting on 2 circular needles, or on 1 circular needle, using magic loop.

Both charts as well as written instructions are provided.

Tsuga canadensis (common name Canadian Hemlock) is native to our area and grows wild in the wooded area near our home. It is the inspiration for this design. It is a graceful and highly ornamental conifer. The new spring growth on the ornamental dwarf varieties can vary in colour from white to yellow/green and even blue.
