A simple lace-edged triangle made of a single skein of richly dyed silk. The pattern is repetitive and pleasant to work as the points complete.
A gram scale is very handy for using as much of the yardage as possible.

The update to the (10 year old!) original version is the removal of the pointed center and the use of a heavier yarn.

V.2 -1 skein Dragonfly Fibers Dance, 100% Rustic Silk,

Gauge: 22 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches before blocking.
Finished Dimensions: 60 inches wide and 20 inches deep in the center, after blocking

Original pattern:
1 cone Habu Tsumugi Silk - 450 yards
Sample was knit with US 6 needles by an average tension knitter
Gauge is about 5 1/2 stitches to the inch, before aggressive blocking.
YO- Yarn between and over needle  (increase)
SKP- Slip 1 stitch knit-wise, Knit 1, Pass slipped stitch over knitted stitch  (decrease)
SSKP- Slip 2 stitches knit-wise, one at a time, Knit 1, Pass slipped stitches over knitted stitch  (double decrease)

The piece is knit from end to end in stockinette stitch with a very simple knit on lace edging.
Finished measurements approximately 74” from end to end and 25” to tip after aggressive blocking.
This pattern can be used with almost any yarn, knitting nearly 1/2 to the point, then decreasing.
