Is it me, or does the soft breeze signaling the start of spring urge you to knit up a vibrant, springy cardigan of your own? The Tto Bom Cardigan, named for being easy on the eyes even when you look at them again and again, was inspired by the texture of a tweedy jacket.

It is knit flat with a drop shoulder construction: knitting the back panel first, picking up stitches from each end for the shoulders, and joining the front and back to knit to the end of the body. The sleeves are knit top-down from stitches picked up around the arm holes. Since it is knit top-down, adjusting the body and sleeves length to your own figure is relatively easy.

The pattern is a combination of charts and written instructions. The stitch pattern for the tweedy texture is illustrated with charts. You might feel intimidated by adding German Short Rows while working the stitch pattern, which is why I recommend this pattern to knitters who have experience in knitting short rows, and reading charts with knit and purl textures.

You will need:
4.5mm circular needles for the main body and sleeves, 3.75mm circular needles for the body ribbing, cuffs, and button band.

Additionally, prepare stitch markers, scrap yarn or cables to hold stitches, scissors, a darning needle, a 3.0-4.0 mm crochet hook, and six 20-21mm buttons.

Please note that preparing small circumference needles for the sleeves will be helpful. If you prefer the magic loop method, you will need a 80cm~ circular needle.

Gauge: 19 stitches X 30 rows per 10cm, using larger sized needles

You may need more/less yarn depending on your tension/gauge. Prepare extra yarn if you are planning to knit longer sleeves/body length.

서술형 도안이지만 무늬뜨기는 기호도안으로 설명됩니다. 무늬뜨기를 반복하며 동시에 경사뜨기를 하기 때문에 난이도가 조금 있다고 느끼실 수 있습니다. 겉뜨기, 안뜨기 기호를 보는 것이 어렵지 않으신 분, 독일식 경사뜨기를 사용한 도안을 경험해보신 분들에게 추천 드립니다.
