The inspiration for this blanket comes from the “Circular Floral Pattern on the Sloping Dome Surface” of Mogao Grotto No. 207 during the Song Dynasty. The Tuanhua is shaped like lotus petals, which we have rendered in a three-dimensional form through the technique of crochet edging. In terms of color, we’ve adopted the popular Tang Dynasty hues of vermilion, yellow, and green, allowing the blanket to radiate outward in a gradient from the inside out, with a well-paced variation in the color rhythm.

The crocheting guidance will guide you step by step through completing this project, and we hope that during the process, you discover even more joy in the colors and stitching techniques used.
