This cowl is knitted in the round like a long tube, with options for the start and finish of your work. Eg. Using a conventional cast on, you can use a three needle bind off, OR using a provisional cast on, you can graft the final row to the cast on. Either looks great.

A garter stitch band separates the bands of stocking stitch, lace, inverted cable and double moss. Bands A-H are repeated to use all your fibre. The bands of pattern are vertically placed when worn because of the construction and give a subtle directional difference.

Because my design has a stitch count of 120 sts (which is divisible by 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10 and 12), you can use your favourite pattern instead of one of mine. Eg. Lace stitch needs a stitch count of 2, inverted cable needs a stitch count of 8.

Use your markers, as the BOR will march to the left because of the lace pattern that shifts diagonally. To bind off, simply readjust the final placement of the BOR to match where it began at the cast on position.
