Tuck creates wider fabric than stockinette making larger sizes possible without a fuss. It also gives the fabric a flattering drape and cuddly feel.

YARN, GAUGE AND MACHINE
Tamm Nordic at stitch size 4 on the bulky machine gets 3 stitches/10 rows per inch in the tuck pattern given. Mid-gauge machines can knit some sizes at a larger stitch size. 2 cones of main color are needed for all sizes. About 2 ounces of a contrast color are also required. Nordic is a very light worsted yarn. Close equivalents, should you wish to substitute are Mary Lue’s Liberty Plus and Caron Simply Soft.
