This scoodie should fit most ladies and girls over the age of 10. The tuck stitch fabric is stretchy and the fit is forgiving. The hood is about 11” from top to bottom and 9” from front to back. Tails are 8” X 27”. The yarn for the sample is Eastport Alpaca DK. While another DK yarn may be used, you will probably need to adjust the stitch size if you substitute. The alpaca is knitted loosely at stitch size 5-6 on the bulky although it is only a DK yarn. This is because it lofts so very much. Gauge in tuck stitch after washing is 3.6 stitches/6 rows per inch. A bulky machine does a great job of this but a mid-gauge may be used, too at a larger stitch size. This is part of a book called “Special Scoodies.”
