A standard gauge version is included in the pattern using fingering weight yarn. The gauge listed in the Ravelry description works on the mid-gauge or bulky machine. The tuck stitch design is included. A punchcard or electronic machine is helpful but the tuck may be hand selected by patient knitters. Hems and bands are stockinette but ribbing is a possible substitute. Because of the width-expanding nature of tuck stitch, XL sizes are possible without seaming.
