Once in a while on the rugged west coast, we trade in our gumboots for something a little edgier. Channel some big Joan Jett energy and strut your stuff in these over-the-knee fishnet stockings. Designed with an experienced and adventurous sock knitter in mind, this pattern has low yardage requirements and works up quickly.

This sock is knitted top down in the round. Instructions include a choice between heel flap and gusset construction (which is extremely fiddly but may provide a better fit) or an afterthought heel. The sock is finished with a wedge toe. You may want to experiment with needle sizes to get a tension that best suits your proportions.

The pattern is now written for three sizes but the gauge is highly customizable due to the openwork construction. The pattern is easily adapted to larger or smaller sizes by casting on multiples of 6.

The length is customizable.
