The name comes from the colorwork section which reminds me of a twinkling star (tuiki tuiki means twinkle twinkle in Finnish).

This pair of socks is knitted cuff down and the pattern comes with a french heel. With the help of the interactive heel patterns on knitgrammer.com you can also replace the heel with a german short row, afterthought or dutch heel. The pattern is written for the magic loop method, but can be adjusted for double pointed needles.

There are sizes for both men and women.

GAUGE, NOTIONS, NEEDLES

Gauge:
With smaller needles 28 sts and 36 rows per 4″ (10cm) in stockinette after blocking.
With bigger needles 26 sts and 36 rows per 4″ (10cm) in stranded colorwork after blocking.

The gauge works for light DK / sport weight yarn. If you prefer a bit thicker yarn you can get size M socks by making size S with gauge 24 sts per 4″ (10 cm). Note that the yardage may vary if you use a different yarn or gauge than the sample uses.

Recommended needles:
Main needles: US 1.5 32″ [2.5mm 80cm] or longer circular needles.
Colorwork needles: US 2.5 32″ [3mm 80cm] or longer circular needles.

Adjust needle size to obtain correct gauge.

SIZES

Sizes: S (M) L / 48 (56) 64 sts
Finished measurements:
Cuff 7 (8) 9’’ [17 (20) 23 cm] around. Length of cuff and foot can be easily adjusted.

Select size with approximately 0.8’’ [2cm] of negative ease. Measure your foot circumference around the ball of the foot.

Sample uses light DK weight wool and nylon blend Novita Nalle (284 yards (260 meters) / 100g and for the orange contrasting color fingering weight wool and nylon blend Ruskanlehti Wool sock held double (DK).
