Tule Hat („tule“ means fire/flame in Estonian, the motif reminds me a candle flame) is a simple and meditative knitting project that grows fast, flying off the needles in no time – like all my brioche knits. Tule Hat is also sibling to my BriocheSis Hat or to my Lollipop Hat, as the stitch count and construction are vitually the same.

The hat can be slightly resized using different yarn and needles. It’s a fast and rewarding knit, with a simple pattern repeat and lots of texture, and due to the DK or worsted weight yarn can be almost completed in one day. Once you get into the rhythm of it, brioche stitch is no more difficult than basic ribbing. This modern beanie is fun and interesting to knit and is sure to be a cold weather wardrobe staple.

CONSTRUCTION
Tule Hat hat is worked in the round from the bottom up, starting with a few basic brioche rounds, continuing with the body part and ending with the crown. Two-color brioche is unique as it knits up into a gorgeous reversible fabric, either side of which can be worn as the outside, creating two diferent hats.
