Tulip
Although the tulip is now associated with the Netherlands, it was in the Ottoman Empire that commercial cultivation of this flower began. The tulip was seen as a symbol of abundance and indulgence and the period of time that is considered the wealthiest for the Ottoman Empire is often called the Tulip era.
This pattern is worked in the round and I use abbreviations according to UK crochet language. I can provide the pattern in UK crochet language if preferred, please just contact me.
The finished tulip is approximately 2” (5cm) in diameter and the leaf is 5.5” (14cm) in length. This flower would be beautiful in a floral display.
Tools Needed:
US size E (3.5mm) crochet hook
scissors
yarn needle
PVA glue
Yarn Needed:
DK acrylic yarn in candy pink and lime green.
Other Materials Needed:
wooden skewer (approx. 3mm diameter and 25cm length)
