Tulip Bed Baby Hat
This took two partial balls of the Paradise for me, but you may be able to get it out of one.
Things are warming up and melting around here, but it’s still too cold to go around bareheaded. So, I made a quick hat in two layers. The first layer is whatever warm, soft yarn you like that works up at between 4 and 5 stitches to the inch. The second layer uses sock yarn to create a little lace.
I worked with one layer of a soft yarn in a lighter purple. My sock yarn layer was a darker purple. I think it came out pretty well. The Tulip Bed Baby Hat is sized to fit up to a 16” noggin, the hat is about 14.25” around. It should fit a baby up to about a year old, or 24 pounds. Our model baby is 9 months old and her mom reports that the hat fits “perfectly”.
The Tulip Bed stitch pattern is inspired by the Tulip Time pattern in Adventures in Knitting by Barbara Aytes, but it is knit on a different number of stitches and in the other direction.
The website that previously hosted this has dropped all of my old patterns. They are currently unavailable, but I may reissue them at another time.
