Spring is all about green plants, flowers and fresh starts. The tulips are some of the first flowers to bloom around here. It is such a welcoming sight! The lightweight yarn and mesh backdrop helps the beauty of the flowers shine through! A perfect accessory for Spring and all through the summer!

I love crochet filet patterns. I think my brain likes the structure of the grid. I also like the images that we are able to create using positive and negative space. If you have never done filet work before, I recommend that you watch some videos. You will need to know how to use a filet chart.

You will need:

  • About 850yd of #2 cotton yarn. I used Cotton King Sultan Pastello.
  • 2.75mm hook.
  • stitch marker

Skill Level: Intermediate
Gauge: 8 squares wide and 11 rows in a 4”x4” square

My finished shawl is 69” across the top and 25” tall at the center point.
