Tulip Lea Shawl
Inspired by the flower for which it was named, the Tulip Lea Shawl features asymmetric shaping accentuated by a wide border of tulip blossoms nestled between a pair of diminutive cables. The body of the shawl is an easy, columnar lace pattern bringing to mind row upon row of parrot tulip blossoms swaying in the breeze. Worked in a fingering weight yarn, this shawl is light and airy, but with just enough warmth to keep a sudden cool breeze at bay.
Producing a generously sized shawl as written, this pattern is also easily customized for additional sizes by working more or fewer repeats of the pattern stitch. Shawl is adaptable to being worked in different yarn weights as well.
Gauge is not critical, but keep in mind that altering the size or working with a different gauge and/or yarn will change your yarn requirements as well as your finished dimensions. Please make sure you have sufficient yarn!
The sample pictured was knit in Malabrigo’s beautiful ‘Light of Love’ colorway.
The pattern has been professionally tech edited and test knit to reduce the potential for error.
CONSTRUCTION
Shawl is worked from the right wingspan tip to the left bottom bind off edge.
