Tulip Stitch Stripe Baby Blanket
The finished blanket using a 5mm crochet hook and DK yarn measures approx 29’’x24’’ - designed for newborn/young baby. The pattern is made up of 2 sections- Tulip Stitch Section and Block Section, which means there’s enough variation to keep interest but it’s repetitive enough that it’s a relaxing project to make! The tulip stitch adds a slight level of challenge for a beginner wishing to extend their skills, or an intermediate/advanced crocheter looking for a change of pace.
For this pattern, you will need:
- 5mm hook
- DK acrylic yarn - 1 skein (100g approx) of each in grey, lime/green and pink (or colours of your choosing)
- tapestry needle
- scissors
You will need to be familiar with the terms (US terminology):
-Single Crochet
- Chain
- Half Double Crochet
- Double Crochet
- Yarn Over
- Tulip Stitch/ 5DC in the same stitch (although this has been explained in the pattern)
- Fasten Off
- Colour Changes
- Space
- Stitches
The Gauge is not important on this project, just keep a consistent tension throughout.
It’s an ideal project for an experienced beginner upwards and a great gift idea for baby showers or christenings.
The pattern is 4.5 pages long and includes colour photos.
This is my own design (Ok Then What’s Next). Please do not redistribute, copy or duplicate all or part of this pattern as your own- give credit where necessary.
