Tulip Trim Bucket Hat
This pattern is to make a cute bucket hat with a bold tulip trim and ruffle brim. There are notes in the pattern to adjust the brim if you want it to be more or less ruffly. The majority of the pattern uses the granny stitch in the round, so it is a great spring or summer hat. A printer-friendly version without pictures is also included in the download in addition to the digital pattern with lots of detailed step-by-step pictures.
The pattern is in English and is in US terms.
This pattern is for an adult size that fits most (possibly teen as well - try sizing hook down to 4.5 if it’s too big) and requires that you know crochet basics, including how to crochet in the round, crochet double crochet/the granny stitch, crochet clusters/V-stitches, and that you are at least an advanced beginner/intermediate crocheter. The majority of the pattern is very simple, but the tulip border can be a little tricky for a beginner. The written instructions and pictures show how to do each step and the more complex stitches are thoroughly explained.
Supplies needed:
- Medium-weight cotton yarn (Peaches & Cream is what I used in example pictures, Sugar & Cream would work as well) in 3 colors, including green for the tulip leaves
- 5.00mm hook, or hook to match gauge in pattern (6” across circle after round 5)
- Scissors
- Yarn needle
- Tape measure
