Tulle's Embrace
FREE DOWNLOAD FOR 1-30 APRIL 2025 - NO CODE NEEDED
This is a free download for all of April 2025 to say thank you to the crochet community for all the support I have received over the years. It is also the perfect opportunity for you to check out my writing style if you are not familiar with my patterns.
Valid until 30 April 2025 when it will become a paid pattern.
DESCRIPTION
“Tulle” is a delicate fabric characterized by its subtle, nearly invisible lines, similar to the soft, blended lines in this cowl created with three different colors. See the 2nd photo in the listing for the 3 colors I used to create this oversized, comfy cowl.
You will use a cool color changing technique so the sides of your cowl remain beautiful without unsightly “loops” along the sides.
SKILL LEVEL
Adventurous Beginner.
SIZES
One size fits most adults.
The length can be adjusted based on the number of meters in each of the 3 CC skeins.
YARN
3 x 380m of fingering weight yarn (#1) in 3 contrasting colors
Small amount (±5m) of DK weight yarn (#3) for an accent color (can be replaced with 1 strand each of the 3 contrast colors).
The sample was made using One of a Kind Yarns, light fingering, 100% SW merino with 380m per 100g for the 3 contrasting colors and for the small amount of DK yarn, I used Knotty Habit, 3ply DK, 100% SW merino with 216m per 100g.
HOOK
5.5mm crochet hook (or size needed to obtain gauge), and a
4.5mm crochet hook for the start and end.
GAUGE
19 sts x 15 rows = 10cm/4” over pattern repeat
Gauge is however not critical but should you wish to swatch, the pattern has swatch instructions you can follow.
ABOUT THE PATTERN

Video tutorial for the color changing technique
Includes a stitch graph of the pattern repeat
Link to a printer friendly version included
