Tumalo Shawl
Tumalo Shawl is a play on directional knitting. I used 3 balls of solid cotton colors that blended nicely with a variegated skein of similar colors. The pattern features diagonal eyelet ribs of stockinette and reverse stockinette. Color A begins at the point of the triangle shaped shawl with diagonal ribs that slant to the right.
The shawl’s shape is created by increasing one stitch on each right side row and both side borders are I-cords.
Color B takes a turn to the left for 5”/13cm and then changes directions again. You can switch directions as many times as you like.
Any fingering to worsted weight yarn will work; I am just partial to plant-based fibers. Use whatever size needle is recommended for your yarn weight. The finished size is up to you. This shawl is reversible.
