Tumbling Bunnies
Instead of the egg toss, juggle floppy little bunnies this year! These bunnies are tumbly, acrobatic little beanbags to toss into spring baskets for your little, (and not so little), ones. I made them with dk weight cotton, but they’ll work up well in sock and worsted weight also. Gauge is not important for this project, but the knitted fabric should be firm enough so beans won’t be able to be worked out between stitches.
Caution! These toys aren’t suitable for children under the age of 3 because of small parts. When making for younger children, use polyfill stuffing and embroidered facial features
worked in the round on double pointed needles
Clarification on Pattern:
Two changes have been made to the pattern on 3/3/13.
1) A clarification to show that decreases should be done on each of the three dpn’s around.
Then,
2) after placing eyes there should be one more row of decreases:
(SSK, K2, K2tog)on each of 3 dpn’s (4 stitches on each dpn)
Change to Pattern 3/6/13:
on Foot section:
once you return to working in round and have finished the first round, you will have 13 stitches, not 12. After the following row:
K2tog, knit around
you will then have 12 stitches
The .pdf on the website will be updated today. If you downloaded the pattern before 3/6/13, you may want to re-download it for the clarifications.
Thank you to the early knitters of the pattern for bringing the needed changes to my attention! :-)
