Tumbling Flowers Wrap
I wanted to design a light wrap that had texture and interest, using some of my favourite crochet stitches, that could be used in the summer when the sun goes down or when the breeze picks up. I wanted the design to be relatively straight forward, so that I could enjoy the rhythm of the stitches without constantly referring to the pattern, but that also included a little challenge. I used a Scheepjes Whirl in Forbidden Fuchsia and a matching Whirlette in Pomegranate on a 3.50mm hook.
Tumbling Flowers Wrap - Dimensions
Finished size after blocking: 20 inches by 69 inches
Gauge: 11 rows and 22 stitches to 4 inches using treble crochet.
I started with the whirl, working from the outside. When I reached the end of that whirl, I started the matching whirlette.
Sections of the Wrap are repeated across the row. I have called the column of flowers ‘Section A’ and the column of crossed trebles ‘Section B’. I have provided an additional chart at the end of the written instructions for Section A (the placement of the ‘flowers’), as I find it much easier to follow.
