A super squishy crocheted rug for the nursery. It’s perfect for baby because:

  • No holes so little fingers won’t get caught and little toes won’t trip
  • A flat circle
  • Really soft and squishy for tummy time
  • A cute border that also doesn’t have any holes.

Because crocheting flat circles in single crochet can be a serious headache, I’ve included tips for avoiding and/or correcting the dreaded ruffling and cupping.

This pattern is very flexible and can be changed up depending on how big you want your rug and how tight/loose you crochet, but this will give you the specifics on how I got my perfect rug and how you can make yours the perfect size and laying perfectly flat!

To get the same size as mine, 48” diameter, you’ll need 6 balls of the Bernat Blanket Stripes, 1 ball of the Bernat Blanket Solids, and an M/9.00 hook.
