Vermont Sheep & Wool Festival 2024 honors the International Year of Camelids. To mark this celebration, I collaborated with festival vendor Snowshoe Farm Alpacas and designed Tunbridge Cowl. Tunbridge, VT is where this annual event takes place, welcoming fiber enthusiasts from around the region. (There is also a complementary hat, Tamarack, that can be knit with your remaining yarn for some sizes!)

Dimensions: Approximate bottom circumference after blocking, 32” (81.5 cm); approximate top circumference after blocking, 20.75 (25.25, 29)” / 53 (64, 73.5) cm. Approximate total height, 11.5” (29 cm).

Yardage Requirements: 600 yards (549 meters) total; 200 yards (183 meters) of each of three colors of worsted weight yarn. Includes yardage (meterage) to knit Size 1, 2, or 3 upper neck, with additional yarn for swatching.

Needles: Needle A (main gauge needle), US7, 22” (4.5 mm, 56 cm) circular, or whatever needle size meets gauge; Needle B, US10.5, 22” (6.5 mm, 56 cm) circular, or a needle 4–5 sizes larger than Needle A for cast-on and Marled Farrow Rib; Needle C: US6, 16” (4 mm, 40 cm) circular, or a needle 1–2 sizes smaller than Needle A, for Farrow Rib and bindoff.

Gauge: All gauges are in 4” (10 cm) squared, knit in the round, after blocking. Swedish Weave and colorwork pattern with Needle A: 18 sts x 26 R. Marled Farrow Rib (yarn held doubled) on Needle B, 15 sts x 20 R. Farrow Rib (yarn held singly) on Needle C: 19 sts x 26 R.

This pattern includes both charted and written instructions. It incorporates motifs from Andrea Rangel’s publication KnitOvation.

The pattern has been professionally tech edited and tested.
