About
This quick knit is designed to be an extra-warm beautiful jacket for babies and toddlers. The fit is loose and intended for cozy layering.

The jacket is knit from the top down and is seamless for a simple pattern that is embellished with colourwork and i-cord tie ribbons for pretty a design.

Yarn
Rico Design Essentials Merino DK, Extrafine Superwash (100% Wool, 120 meters / 131 yards per 50 gram ball)

  • C1: Dark Blue 3 (4, 4) 50g balls
  • C2: Light Blue 2 (3, 4) 50g balls

Alternative colours pictured in the pattern are Dark Blue & Mauve and Dark Green & Silver Grey.

Sizing
The Tundra Jacket can be made in three sizes:

  • Small - Approx 6-12 Months
  • Medium - Approx 1-2 Years
  • Large - Approx 2-4 Years

Use the following size information to be sure you make the correct size. Pay particular attention to the size of the hips, because the length of the body and arms can more easily be increased/decreased.

Sizing in Inches, listed from S (M, L):

  • Height (shoulder to bottom of hem): 10” (12”, 13”)
  • Hip and Waist Circumference: 21” (24”, 26”)
  • Underarm to Wrist: 7” (9”, 10”)
  • Underarm to Bottom of Hem: 6.25” (7.5”, 8”)

Remember that the jacket is intended to fit loosely to accommodate more layers underneath.

  • One set of US 4 (3.5 mm) circular needles (ideally with a length of 20” or longer)
  • One set of five US 4 (3.5 mm) double pointed needles
  • Tapestry needle
