Tunie's Christmas Tree Wall Hanging
Many thanks to Tunie, who came up with idea of adapting my Christmas Tree II Tea Towel ~ flat to create a wall hanging. She was so enthusiastic that she figured out the eyelets for the dowel to feed through and quickly knitted up her idea.
Tunie used 201 gr of the Plymouth Yarn Fantasy Naturale Solid yarn but also used a ‘yarn hungry’ (her words) cast on and added an extra row at the end. You may be able to knit the hanging with just 2 balls of the yarn, but it might be advisable to have a little extra just in case you need it. The finished measurements are 21”H x 15.5” W. Please note, instructions are written and not charted.
For those of you who may have purchased my Christmas Tree Tea Towel II ~ flat and wish to make the changes for the wall hanging, there are only a couple:
Rows 5 and 145:
K3, (yo, ssk)14x, K3, (K2tog, yo) 13x, K to end of row
Add one K row to the top border before casting off.
