This is a knitted version of Tunip, the Vegimal, and requires small oddments of blue/green, yellow, green and white wool to make. Safety eyes are optional.

As this is a toy, any yarn can be used as can needle, though to achieve a good solid fabric, use or or two needle sizes lower than recommended for making him.
