A simple beginner-friendly introduction to Tunisian mosaic crochet. The file contains written discussion of the method as well as instructions to complete a scarf using charts (left and right-handed versions).

Pictured example used fingering weight yarn and a 4.5 mm hook. Finished scarf measured 8.5 x 60 inches (22 x 152 cm). However, pattern can be done with other weights of yarn. It is important to choose a hook that will give good drape to the finished fabric. Rule of thumb for Tunisian crochet is to choose a hook size 2 sizes larger than recommended for yarn used. Still, this largely depends on your particular tension.
